Wilfred A. Werning Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wilfred A. Werning of Van Horne, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 11, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Werning and Emma Werning (Wiese); and his siblings, Delbert, Merlin, Charles, Leroy, Duane, Lorene Karsten and Ruth Huedepohl.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Fredrickson; his children, Julie Hopkins (Brad) and Dale Werning (Doreen); his grandchildren, Jana Sievers (Clint), Todd Hopkins (Deanna), Maren Elm (Darin), Kevyn Werning (Molly), Nathan Werning and Daniel Werning (Ashley); his brother Vernon Werning (Tammy); and his sister-in-law Bonnie Werning. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, 1 due in November, and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. Andrews Lutheran Church (307 3rd Ave, Van Horne, IA 52346). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 10:45 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery - Newhall 25th.
