He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brittain and Lois Brittain (Clark); his brother Jim; and his in-laws, Eugene, Dorothy Marquardt and Richard Marquardt.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Brittain (Marquardt); his daughters, Jodi Harada (John), Tami Gushiken (Cy) and Ginger Gard (Steve); his grandchildren, Rachel Harada, Natalie Barnett (Daniel), Andrew Harada (Alli), Logan Gushiken (Kirsten), Derek Gushiken, Jessica Hardy (Jacob), Emily Thomas (Carson) and Ben Gard; his great grandchildren, Iris Barnett, Eden Barnett, Everett Thomas and Joanna Hardy; his brother Jason Brittain (Marilyn); and his in-laws, Larry, Vonnie Ory, Jackie Marquardt, Jim and Linda Marquardt.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (1195 Prairieview Ave, Van Meter, IA 50261). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
