He is survived by : his former life partner Patty Kay Rhodes; his wife Marcella Mercer; his children, Kevin Bethards (Ruth) of Leon and Kim Bethards (John Wheeler) of Osceola, Iowa; his grandchildren, Brittany Bethards (Travis Thompson), Jordyn Bethards (Natalie Johnston), Chance Porter (Jamie), Alena Phillips (Ryan) and Bowe Porter (Brianna); his siblings, Jim Bethards (Pam) of Cameron, Vickie Parmer (Bubby) of St. Joseph, Dennis Bethards of Avenue City, Gary Bethards of Van Wert and Ben Bethards (Darlene) of Van Wert, Iowa; and his close friend Mary Rice. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
