He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred DeNeve and Della DeNeve; his stepson Russell Andrews DeNeve; and his sister Sandy Burritt. He is survived by: his daughter Danielle Nowotny (Rob); his grandchildren, Garret DeNeve of Denver, CO, Devin DeNeve (Megan) of Iowa City, Rhett Nowotny (Michelle) of Wauwatosa, WI and Ashleen Nowotny of Coralville; his great grandchildren, Redmond DeNeve and Bennett Nowotny; and his siblings, Shirley Swails, Richard DeNeve (Barb), Mary Starry (Terry), Linda Beyer (Gary) and Lee Kimball.
