He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas "Gerald" Skahill and Joyce Skahill (Bateman); and his siblings-in-law, Liz Skahill and Don Chapman. He is survived by: his siblings, Jerry Skahill (Mary) of Ames, Iowa, Judy Casey (Duane) of Villisca, Iowa, Nancy Chapman of Lenox, Iowa, Janet Scholey (Fred) of Villisca, Iowa, Susan Lindberg (David) of Urbandale, Iowa, Mark Skahill (Alyson), David Skahill of Villisca, Iowa and Donna Robinson (Jim) of Villisca, Iowa. He is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends including his special family.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the LeRette Funeral Chapel (525 E. Ratliff Road, Red Oak, IA 51566). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (131 W High St, Villisca, IA 50864).
