He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard Pippert and Alice Pippert (Selk). He is survived by : his wife Diane Albertsen; his daughters, Renee Schnurr (Michael) of Roland and Robin Pippert of Vinton; his grandchildren, Gibson Schnurr (Isabelle) of Stockholm, Maggie Schnurr of Chico, Thor Shoemaker (Mercedes) of Cedar Rapids and Jovis Shoemaker of Ames; and his sister Shirley Benfer (Terry) of Cedar Rapids.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6th St, Vinton, IA 52349). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mark Lutheran Church (101 N Walnut Ave, Garrison, IA 52229). A burial was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 11:20 AM at the Garrison Cemetery (1776 61st St, Garrison, IA 52229).
