Dixie Lou Wayson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dixie Lou Wayson of Vinton, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 7, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Stickels and Cora Stickels (Davis); her spouse C. M. Wayson (Jack); and her siblings, LaVonn Johnson, Charles and John Stickels.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sonja Bridge (Michelle) of Cedar Rapids, B. J. and Melissa Chapman (Mark) of Dysart; her grandchildren, Stephanie Bridge (James Heistand) of Cedar Rapids, Blake Wayson (Jennifer) of Waterloo, Elissa Maxwell (Brock) of Altoona, Michael Wayson (Rachel) of Mt. Auburn and Cole Laughridge of Dysart; her great grandchildren, Angel, Caitlin, Brady, Bo, Emma, Jack, Sara, Jase and Kyleigh; her great great grandchild Jaxon; and her sister Billie Jans of Traer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Presbyterian Church of Vinton (608 1st Ave, Vinton, IA 52349). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at the Evergreen Cemetery (1002 E 10th St, Vinton, IA 52349).
Memorials may be directed to Vinton Presbyterian Church in Dixie's honor.
