He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Long and Maxine Lindsay Long; his siblings, Wayne and Helen; and his brother-in-law Roger Geater.

He is survived by: his wife Martha; his sons, Jimmy (Chris), Josh, Jessie, Jakob, Ron, John (Brooke), Grant, Derrick, Paige, Kamden and Jensen; his sister Mildred Kisling; and his siblings-in-law, Diane Long, Mary Geater, Jane Kaiser (David), Rick Geater (Beth) and Vinton. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
