It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Eugene Wicks of Vinton, Iowa, born in Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Wicks and Florence Mae Wicks (Powell). He is survived by: his niece Peggy Van Nus of Portage, Michigan; his sons, James T. Wicks (Cheryl) of Joplin, Dr. Thomas J. Wicks (Christina) of Urbana and Timothy A. Wicks of Wayzata, Minnesota; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Ella, Lillie (Blake), Joshua and Jacob.
