Marlys Elizabeth Geater Obituary

We announce the death of Marlys Elizabeth Geater (Vinton, Iowa), who passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 90. Marlys will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Bierschenk and Laverna Bierschenk (Rinderknecht); her brother James; her siblings-in-law, Christy Bierschenk and Roger Inman; and her great grandchild Elana Silko.

She is survived by: her husband Lenard Geater; her daughters, Diane Landrus (Dennis) of Cedar Rapids and Debra Beadle (Loras) of Solon, Iowa; her grandchildren, Amy Van Wechel (Michael), Holly Sutcliffe (Rob), Lindsey Silko (Travis), Beth Legue (Nate), Drew Beadle (Alyssa) and Amanda Paprocki (Jonathon); her great grandchildren, Lincoln, Brooklyn, Nolan and Julian Van Wechel; her grandchildren, Liam, Declan Sutcliffe, Evelyn Laverna, Edison, Easton Silko, Nicholas, Elijah, Monroe, Phoebe Legue, Hailey, Owen Beadle, Tyler and Taylor Paprocki; and her sister Karen Inman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established in her name.
