He is survived by: his wife Elaine Kirchner of Mark's Lutheran Church; his children, Brett Bednar (Jodi Reynolds) of Naples, FL and Cyd Hanson (Bob) of Cedar Rapids; his grandsons, Brady Bednar (Kelsey Smith) of Kansas City, Evan Bednar of Denver, CO, Matthew Hanson (Betsy) of Cedar Rapids and David Hanson of Peoria, AZ; and his sisters, Phyllis Dvorak of Cedar Rapids and Marlys Geiger of Des Moines.
