It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Ann Merchant of Vinton, Iowa, born in OKeene, Oklahoma, who passed away on June 2, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eli A. Koehn and Susanna Koehn (Thiessen); her husband Dale; and her siblings, June Eckhart, Eldon, Bud, Les and Chuck Koehn.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melodee Lohrer of Luzerne, Angela Merchant-Stueck (Rodney Stueck) and Kim Frazier (Fred) of Vinton; her grandchildren, Ashley Rouse (Brian), Cameron Lohrer (Elise), Mitchell Merchant (Michel), Teal Stueck, Brody Stueck (Erin), Jared Seltrecht and Brie McKenna (Koby Lint); her great grandchildren, Noel, Wesley, Chayse, Emily, Ryan, Madison, Kiara, Mariah, Madalynn, Lakeland, Lennox, Eleanor, Sawyer and Hazel; and her sisters, Juanita "Dolly" Krivanek of Cedar Rapids and Betty Fowler (John) of Vinton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
