He is survived by: his wife Sharon Rohlena; his children, Tammy Rathje (Jeffery) of Watkins, Teresa Merchant (Allan) of Vinton and Todd Schminke (Dawna) of Newhall; his grandchildren, Matthew Rathje (Johnna), Trisha Bunten (Mitchell), Joshua Rathje (Camela), Jessica Dulin (Frankie), Adam Rathje (Rayanna), Chelsey Merchant (Tyler), Erica Johnson (Travis) and Robert Rathje (Taylor); his great grandchildren, Jace, Callan, Maddison, Reece, Zarra, Remi, Brihanna, Makinnley, Gustin, Senna, Rowan, Harlow, Coltyn and Kora; and his brothers-in-law, Neil Rohlena, Mearl "Sonny" Hagen and Robert Van Scoy.
