He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Usher and Mary Ann Usher; his former wife Darlene Mollenhauer; and his wife Susan Wacker Usher. He is survived by: his children, Jeremiah Usher of Cedar Rapids, Briana Evans of North Liberty, Nathan Usher (Amber) of Marion, Leah Melton (Daniel) of Cedar Rapids and Catharine Aschan of Marion; and his sisters, Donna Nielsen (Terry) of Center Point, Mary Godwin (Brian) of Cedar Rapids and Kate Staplekamp (Brian) of Cresco. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in James' memory Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home.
