He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Schmitt and Mabel Schmitt; his former wife Marcia Schmitt; and his granddaughter Alexis Schmitt. He is survived by: his wife Jean Schmitt of Walnut; his sons, Jericho Schmitt (Jenny) of Marne, Jason Schmitt (Leslie) of Assumption and Jared Schmitt (Carrie) of Atlantic; his stepdaughter Vickie Knudtson of Walnut; his siblings, Jesse Schmitt (Shirley) of Marne, Dorothy Peters of Marne and Della Harrah of Clarion; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Cody, Larissa, Zach, Bethany, Matthew, Haylee, Austin, Kyle, Aaron, Mallory, Macey, Kole, Addison, Keston, Josie and Drew. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
