He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Chad Hayes of Wapello and Nanette Hayes of Las Vegas, Nevada; his stepson Melvin Paetz (Tammy); his stepgrandson Jeffrey Paetz, Jr.; his sisters, Bev Paris of Wapello and Marilyn Lynch of Washington; and his daughter-in-law Amy Hayes. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
