He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Bryant and Edith Bryant (Fuget); his wife Marsha Townsend; and his sister Mary Clester. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Bryant of Marshalltown and Christopher Bryant of Cape Coral, Florida; his grandchildren, Jalinn Bryant, Jared Bryant and Chase Miller; and his girlfriend Barb Foster of Wapello.

A memorial has been established in Richard's name.
