As Carla Joan departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Carla Joan may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Carla Joan leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Guther and Bertha Guther (Matthas); her husband Ray; her son Brian; and her siblings-in-law, Robert Carter and Phyllis Carter.
She is survived by: her daughter Cathi Hill (Dan) of Washington, Iowa; her granddaughter Abigail Holeton of Coralville, Iowa; her great grandchildren, Ava, Sevrin and Kovin; and her nephew John Carter (Kim) of Washington, Iowa..
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home (116 E Main St, Washington, IA 52353). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church (206 W 2nd St, Washington, IA 52353).
