He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Thomas and Helen Marie Knerr (Haifley); his son Christopher; his brother Douglas James; his brother-in-law Rick Sinn; and his close friend Kenny Gierman.
He is survived by: his son David Cody Knerr of Atalissa, IA; and his siblings, Dick Haifley of Keota, Ruth Vonbehren (Al) of Tipton, IA, Barb Flanegan (Jeff Tyer) of Trenton, IA, Thomas Knerr of Washington, Patty Brown (Ron) of Kalona, Joyce Sinn of Kalona and Charlie Knerr (Tammy) of Kalona. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A reception was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sunset Park (911 E Main St, Washington, IA 52353).
