He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Oscar and Marjorie Marie Tappan (Rife); and his brother-in-law Dennis Stout. He is survived by: his wife Myrna Tappan of Washington, Iowa; his children, Kim Stout of Ainsworth, Iowa, Terry Tappan of Washington, Iowa, Susan Moeller (Edward) of Washington, Iowa and Brandon Tappan (Megan) of Washington, Iowa; his stepchildren, Lisa Eggers of Bettendorf, Iowa, Tim Moothart (Jenny) of Atalissa, Iowa and Shari Sweeting (Art) of Riverside, Iowa; and his sister Linda Stout of Ainsworth, Iowa. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; 23 step great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ainsworth Opera House (284 N Railroad St, Ainsworth, IA 52201).
