He was predeceased by : his parents, Edwin Rich and Lucy Rich (Casey); his son Mike Rich; his grandson Dustin Dean Iwanowski; his sons-in-law, Gary Witthoft and Scott Bisbey; and his brother Donald Rich (Marj).

He is survived by : his wife Joan Rich of Washington, Iowa; his children, Peggy Witthoft of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Linda Drish (Denny) of Washington, Iowa, Tim Rich of New Mexico and Nancy Bisbey of Washington, Iowa; his godchild Jolisa Weidner (Rich); and his friends, Sid, Donna Manfull and Jim Hayes. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County.
