She was predeceased by: her parents, William W. Carnes and Bessie M. Carnes (Evans); her children, James L. Netherland Sr. and Mary "Faye" Lough; and her son-in-law James Netherland.

She is survived by: her daughter Becky Waltman of Washington, Iowa; her grandchildren, Tasha Hesseltine (Rob) of Washington, Iowa, Justin Lough of Galesburg, Illinois, Leanna Lough of Washington, Iowa, Amanda Netherland of Davenport, Iowa and Mackenzie Netherland-Carder of Washington, Iowa; and her brother William L. Carnes. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
