He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Turnipseed and Faye Turnipseed (Bauer); his wife Helen Swanson; his daughter Rhonda Van Horne; and his siblings, Letha Statler, Edna Statler, Frances Toothacher, Erma Lyle and Daryl Turnipseed.
He is survived by: his son David of Des Moines, IA; his grandchildren, Lindsey McBrayer of Meridian, MS, Lisa McDuffie of Meridian, MS and Calem Bunte of Des Moines, IA; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Anna, Natalie and Gracie.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home & Cremation Service (107 S 15th Ave, Washington, IA 52353). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Washington United Methodist Church (206 W 2nd St, Washington, IA 52353).
