He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Francis and Zitta Chorpening (Bush); his wife Ann; his siblings, Wilda Jean Reschley, Russell Jr. and David; and his son Eric Chorpening of St. Petersburg, FL.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Chorpening of Washington, Janie Davison (Wendell) of Riverside, Michele "Cheli" Morgan (Jeffrey) of Iowa City, Roberta Smith (Dan) of Ottumwa, Bob Gaal (Krista) of Washington and Jim Conwell (Tina) of Wayland; and his sisters, Arlene Wheeler of Iowa City and Angela McKune of Seymour, MO.. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in Dick's name to Halcyon House.
