He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Gent and Irma Gent; his in-laws, Charles and Mary Friese; and his brothers, Richard Gent and Fred Gent.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Friese; his children, Kevin Gent (Linda), John Gent (Cathy), Char Brenneman (Rob), Steve Gent (Susan) and Glenda McWilliams (Darryl Carter); his sister Donna Tinnes (Ron); and his sisters-in-law, Jane Gent, Winnie Gent, Mary Catherine Escher, Donna Mae Moeller, Marilyn Nebel (Bob), Teresa Friese, Winnie Friese and Connie Waters. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. James Catholic Church (602 W 2nd St, Washington, IA 52353). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
A general memorial has been established.
