She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Tom and Kathy Fick; and her great-grandparents, Marlene, Harvey Fick, Dave and Maurine Powell.
She is survived by: her parents, Amber Nelson and Tim Nelson of Quimby, Iowa; her uncles, Andy Fick and Rob Sietsema of Sioux Falls; her grandmother Priscilla Nelson of Quimby, Iowa; her pet Hazel; and her aunts and uncles, Karen (Greg Ebersole), Kandice (Bob Herron), Kelley (Mike Ellis), Ron (Phyllis Fick) and Marcia (John Smith). She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Boothby Funeral Home (207 E Main St, Cherokee, IA 51012). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to them for a future project in EmaLeigh's honor.
