He was predeceased by : his mother Debra Grell (Meyer); his grandparents, Pat Meyer, Joe and Janet Grell; and his cousins, Katie Meyer and Alex Parker.

He is survived by : his father Jed Grell (Robin Shellady) of Washta, IA; his sisters, Bethany Grell (Kinyon Melton) of Pierson, IA and Cassie Grell of Newell, IA; and his grandfather Jim Meyer of Cedar Rapids, IA. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
