Adelia leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Adelia’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Adelia will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wendell Short and Blanche Gillson Turner Short; her husband Austin Blomgren; and her sisters, Margery and Lucille.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Menuey (Judith) of Powdersville, SC, Barbara McAlpin of Woodward, IA and Scott Menuey (Paula) of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, along with numerous extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (420 Harwood Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Memoires Cemetery (3669 Logan Ave, Waterloo, IA 50703).
