He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Stessman and Josephine Stessman (Kenkel); his former wife Carol Lea Willis; his children, Kenneth and Kathleen; his siblings, John, Charles, Leora, Robert, Victor and Mary; and his brother-in-law Elmer Schechinger.
He is survived by: his wife Evalyn Stuber Stessman; his children, Janet Lentz (Michael) of North Carolina and Richard Stessman (Karla) of Norwalk; his sisters, Margaret Schechinger and Dorothy Teatsworth (Richard); his sisters-in-law, Alice and Darlene; his niece Theresa "Trece" Stessman; and his stepchildren, Tim Stuber (Vicki), David Stuber (Ilyn) and Carol Hansen (Dave). He is also survived by four step-grandchildren; and 7 step-great-grandchildren; and many special friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Cedar Valley Honor Flight, and the Waterloo Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
