With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher James Nie (Waterloo, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 14, 2025 at the age of 43. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his parents, Nicholas J. Nie and Dolores M. Wirtz Nie of Jesup; his wife Lindsay Ann Oberhauser of Stephen's Catholic Church; his children, Cayden Nie and Ashton Nie; his in-laws, Mike and Nancy Oberhauser of Waterloo; his siblings, Mark Nie (Laura) of Elko, Minn, Ryan Nie (Alexa) of Oakland, N. J., Justin Nie (Britney) of Hazel Green, Wis, Lisa Etringer (Zach) of Waterloo and Mary Jo Nickel (Jake) of Cedar Rapids; and his brother-in-law Clint Oberhauser (Melissa) of Jesup. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
