With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Darwin Dean Dirksen of Waterloo, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Darwin Dean left this world on June 8, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wilbert and Lola Adelaide Dirksen (Ayers); his wife Patricia Dirksen; his siblings, Jon Dirksen and Barbara Cox; and his granddaughter Aimee Lynn Bunger (McKinley).

He is survived by: his children, Sam Dirksen (Cindy) of Hampton, IA, Lori McKinley (Mike) of Cedar Falls, IA, Tina Cooper (Tim), Erin Troyer (Tim) of Kechi and June Olds (Jeff); and his sister Debbie Doyle Day of Columbia, MO. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed in Dean's name to his family which will be later designated to the Habitat for Humanity.
