David Sykes Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Sykes of Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Edith M. Bradford Sykes, Sr.; and his siblings, George W. Sykes, Jr., John Sykes, June McBlackwell, Eleanor Sykes and Derrick Sykes.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sykes of Waterloo; his daughters, Dominique Reed of Waterloo, Tiffany Sykes of Waterloo, Yakima Sykes, Jaquary of Virginia and Dava Sykes of Washington, D. C.; his stepson Shauntez Coffer of Waterloo; his father George W. Sykes, Sr. of Waterloo; and his siblings, Frances Sykes, Rosey Gaines, Bobby Sykes, Gregory Sykes, Eddie Sykes and Khalifah Sykes. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
