Devere Pontenberg Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Devere Pontenberg of Waterloo, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 20, 2025 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Devere Pontenberg to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, DeVere Pontenberg and Agnes Pontenberg (Polansky); his wife Norma Larsen; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Grace. He is survived by: his children, Christine Pontenberg, Cynthia Stroud and Charles Pontenberg (Fátima); his grandchildren, Bruno, Monique (Scott), Natasha (Daniel), Cassandra (Benjamin), Madison, Jared and Sophia; and his sister Dorothy DiGregorio. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (627 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50702).
