He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval L. Soper and Merial E. Soper (Harkin); his girlfriend May Berry; his daughter Elizabeth Soper; his grandson Derick Robinson; his siblings, Ronald Soper, Marian Kelly, Patti Schmitz, Betty Holley and Connie Crawford-Webb; and his brother-in-law Jim Kelly.
He is survived by: his daughters, Missy Robinson of Mount Vernon and Tricia Pariseau; his grandchildren, Danny Hemminger, Dylan Robinson and Christa Emery; his siblings, Larry Soper (Doug Spencer) of Mesa, Arizona, Jerry Soper (Deb Gruver) of Oelwein, Iowa, Joan Waitman (Richard) of Phoenix, Arizona, Shirley Shay (Gene) of Oelwein and Susan Ohrt (Craig) of Richmond, Missouri; his siblings-in-law, Peter Schmitz of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and Kathryn Soper of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and his close friend Glenn Luppen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
