With solemn reverence, we commemorate Erik Runge of Waterloo, Iowa, whose life came to an end on September 17, 2025 at the age of 57, leaving behind cherished memories. Though Erik may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Erik touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jan Runge and Mary Ann Runge (Zierath). He is survived by: his wife Roxane Runge; his children, Hope of Tampa, Haley Gehrke (Noah), Chase of Cedar Falls and Caden (Leonie Sabanagic) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Maci and Boston Gehrke; his brother Steve (Amber); and his cousins, Nick (Karina) and Alex Bartels. He is also survived by niece and nephews; his kids.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cedar Falls Visitors Center (6510 Hudson Rd, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
