He is survived by: his sisters, Sherry Deen Sanderson of Tripoli and Sara Determan (Matt) of Sioux City; his stepmother Sally Paterni of Sioux City; his stepsiblings, Liz Jonas (Phil) of Sioux City, Cindy Smith of Sioux City and Kurt Smith of Sioux City; his uncles, Dennis Roberts of Cedar Falls, Stan Paterni of Cedar Falls and Chuck Heene of Waterloo; his cousins, Brian Roberts (Erin) of Denver, Saunja Mildensein of Lincoln City, OR, Tamara Cline (Steven) of Strasburg, CO and Jennifer Reiter (Adam) of Cedar Falls; his nieces and nephews, Eran Buck (Sachiyo) of Yokosuka, Machalah Phelps (Shawn) of Tripoli, Kyle Jonas of Sioux City, Bryce Jonas of Sioux City, Christian Mckewon of Sioux City, Connor Mckewon of Sioux City, Addison Determan of Sioux City, Courtney Smith-Hernandez and Kelsey Smith-Hernandez of Ames; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ian, Andrew Buck of Japan, Marleigh and Ellery Phelps of Tripoli.
