He was predeceased by : his parents, Henderson Thomas, and Louiese Thomas, Sr. (Hutchinson); his brother Thedo Thomas; his nephew DeAngelo Souza; and his niece Felicia Carey.

He is survived by : his daughter Tiana Thomas of Sumter; his grandson Foxx Faulkner; and his siblings, Rick Thomas (Susan) of Waterloo, Steve Thomas (Stephanie) of Waterloo, Dennis Thomas (Janelle) of Waterloo, Elnora Foster of Detroit, Sheila Russell (James) of San Antonio, Myrtle Carey of Des Moines and Ruby Souza (Joe) of Cedar Rapids.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories (965 Home Plaza, Waterloo, IA 50701). A graveside service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Memoires Cemetery (3669 Logan Ave, Waterloo, IA 50703). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Centre Hall (1211 4th St SW, Waverly, IA 50677).
