It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jeanette Petersen (Waterloo, Iowa), born in Cresco, Iowa, who passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank Leonard and Eleanora Thelma Long (Medhaug); her husband Gerald W. Petersen; and her brothers, Bill, Sam and Marty Long.

She is survived by : her children, Lori Steimel (Leo) of Waterloo, Rory Petersen of Marshalltown, Debby Silber of Galesburg, IL, Dawn Petersen of Toledo and Melissa Petersen of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Alexander, Amanda, Ariell, Tyler, Olivia, Alex, Emily, Marissa, Katie, Maya, Isaac, Isabelle and Ari; her great grandchildren, Dallas, Rosalee, Adler, Anthony and Freddy; her sister Ellen Huston of Waterloo; and her daughter-in-law Laura Castell of State Center.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Locke (1519 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50702).
