He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale DeKoster and Margaret DeKoster (Kirchner). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Workman; his children, John (Angela) of Waterloo, Scott (Leslie) of Naperville, Illinois and Erin Reuter (Joel) of Chicago; his grandchildren, Katelyn of Norwalk, IA, Grace of Naperville, Ill, Caleb of Cedar Falls, Christopher of Washburn and Jackson of Naperville, Ill; and his siblings, Dr. Robert (Evelyn) of Cedar Falls and Cynthia Dunning (David) of Cedar Rapids.
A funeral service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Waterloo Memorial Park Chapel (3430 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50701).
