It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Richard Leary of Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Patrick and Catherine Anne Leary (Lindbloom); his wife Patricia Ann Kirkland; his son Bryon; and his brothers, James, William, Vincent and Thomas.

He is survived by: his children, Steve (Kay) of Waterloo, Nancy Detrick (Steven) of Mount Pleasant and Shery Stammerman (Chris) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Nathan Leary (Meigan), Kaylee and Cooper Stammerman; his sister Patricia Kalman of Bloomington, Minn.; and his close friend Avis Nelson of Waterloo.
