She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Schmitt and Gertrude Schmitt (Betty); her siblings, Mike Schmitt (Cheryl), Janette Peverill (Schmitt), Thomas Schmitt, James Schmitt and Steven Schmitt (Linda); and her sister-in-law Peggy Schmitt (Jerry).
She is survived by: her siblings, Jerry Schmitt, Donald Schmitt (Nancy), Barb Sebetka (Schmitt) (Jim) and Karen Ciesielski (Schmitt) (Joe); her siblings-in-law, Donna Schmitt (Thomas), Marlene Schmitt (James) and John Peverill (Janette); her children, Scott Ciesielski, Rick Ciesielski (Dawn), Vernon Kalkbrenner II (Samantha), Karen Richmond (Darryl), Kim Peterson (Glenn), Kristine Kalkbrenner, Kathy Standridge (Pete), Sonja Hoskins (Dwayne), Steven Kalkbrenner (Andrea), Sue Cavallaro (Kalkbrenner) and Jodi Ridder Sonja (Ciesielski); and her grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Mitch, Cameron and Mason. She is also survived by grandchildren, and her growing number of great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories (965 Home Plaza, Waterloo, IA 50701). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Athanasius Cemetery.
