Lenora McDermott Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lenora McDermott of Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on August 7, 2025 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lenora McDermott to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harm Hogelucht and Ella Hogelucht; her husband Lawrence McDermott; her daughter Juanita McDermott (Mia); and her siblings, Walt, Fred Hogelucht, Rosanna Theoboldt and Anita Schulenburg.
She is survived by: her children, Charlotte McDermott of Waterloo, Iowa and David McDermott of Anchorage, Alaska; her grandson Scott McDermott (Cher) of Waterloo, Iowa; her great grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron McDermott of Waterloo, Iowa and Katelyn Riley (Griff) of Denver, Iowa; her great great grandchildren, Cohen Riley and Lenora Riley; and her brother Leonard Hogelucht of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories (965 Home Plaza, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Ascension Lutheran Church (2211 Maynard Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A burial will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Memoires Cemetery (3669 Logan Ave, Waterloo, IA 50703).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, Cedar Valley Hospice Home or Ascension Lutheran Church.
