She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Marquardt and Ethel Paris Marquardt; her son Paul Schmitt; her daughter-in-law Lori Schmitt; her brothers, Stanley and Verdale Marquardt; her stepfather Morris Dolph; and her in-laws, Mary and Roger Schmitt.
She is survived by: her husband Norman R. Schmitt; her children, Madonna Hoth (John) of Ely, Michelle Kessenich (Ray) of Cape Coral, Florida and Rodney Schmitt (Patty) of Spring Hill, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Megan Kaiser (Kevin), Lauren Hoth, Cory Schmitt (Stef), Austin Hoth, Justin, Jared, Jason and Jacksen Snitselaar; her great grandchildren, Avery, Olivia, Karson and Evelyn; her brothers, Verlyn Marquardt (Regina) and Morris Dolph (Linda) of Waterloo; and her sisters-in-law, Lucy Wiebbecke (Keith) of Fairbank and Berniece "Butch" Marquardt of Evansdale. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
