She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Roethler and Mae Roethler (Mussmann); her husband Burl; her daughter Rosanne Paine; and her siblings, Lucille Roney, Milo, Wally, Kenneth, Jack, Donald, James and Robert Roethler.
She is survived by: her children, Roland (Linda), Rodney Armstrong of Waterloo Iowa, Rhonda Nichols, Rebecca Caughron of Waterloo Iowa and Regina Belmer (Tom) of Evansdale Iowa; her son-in-law Jeff Paine; her grandchildren, Jessica Davidson (Jake), John Armstrong (Kim), Kaitlin Armstrong, Andy Blanford, Trisha Gautney (Rick), Travis (Kayla), Trevor Nichols (Christina), Brandon Paine (Autumn), Brooklyn Hagen, Justin, Jennifer, Joel Caughron, Amber Barnett (David) and Ashlin Hayungs; her brother LeRoy Roethler of Elma Iowa; and her sisters-in-law, Marge, Anna Mae and Darlys Roethler. She is also survived by Great Grandma to her 21 great grandchildren, who lovingly called her G Grandma.
A rosary was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service (400 South St, Waterloo, IA 50701). Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hagarty - Waychoff - Grarup Funeral Service (400 South St, Waterloo, IA 50701). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (311 15th Ave, Gilbertville, IA 50634). A burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at the Poyner Township Cemetery.
