With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Lou Mead of Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on May 20, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Miller and Anna Miller (Woock); her parents-in-law, Fanny Cole and William Mead; her grandson Dylen Mead; and her sisters, Marcella Sink (Clyde), Joan Varco (Earl) and Ramona Claus.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Mead of Waterloo; her children, Rick Mead (Sherre) of White Hall, Montana, Kim McBride (Brian) of Waterloo and Roxane Welsh (Bob) of Ogallala, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Nichole Harken (Nick), Cassie Hernandez (Jason), Alexia Lanka (Hunter), Savannah Welsh and Shelby Welsh; and her great grandchildren, Jacob McBride, McKenna Harken, Kylee Morrison, Bradan Harkan, Madaline, Isabella Harken, Leilani McBride-Kaaihue, JJ Lanka, Maelynn Hernandez, Levi and Landon Lanka.
