She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Conroy and Ida Conroy; and her grandsons, Tyler Swyter and Andrew Schatz. She is survived by: her children, Karen Schatz of Waterloo and Jeremy McAleer of Ashland, KY; her son-in-law Timothy Schatz of Waterloo; her stepson Robert McAleer of Cedar Rapids; and her grandsons, Matthew of Waterloo and Cooper Schatz of Waterloo.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (650 Stephan Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family Mary Arwen Wood, 73, of Waterloo, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Iowa City Rehab & Health Care Center.
