We bid farewell to Matthew Hobson of Waterloo, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 12, 2025 at the age of 71. Matthew touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Connie Hobson; his daughter Crystal Hobson; his parents, Bernard Hobson and Barbara Jauch; and his stepfather Karl Jauch.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Wooden (Roger) of Buckingham and Katie Unland (Chad Clark) of Cedar Falls, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Reese, Landon, Abigail Wooden, Natalie Unland and Cale Clark; and his brothers, Mark Hobson and Kurt Jauch.
He also enjoyed traveling (especially Jackson Hole, Wyoming) and was a steadfast supporter of causes close to his heart, including regular donations to the Audubon Society, the Waterloo Public Library, and Cedar Valley Hospice.
