He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Platte and Johanna Platte (Gaede); and his daughter Dorothy Kay Platte. He is survived by: his wife Jean Platte; his sons, Rodney Platte (Diane) of Waterloo and Randy Platte (Ginny) of Waterloo; and his grandchildren, Dustin Platte (Jennifer), Angie Bovy (Curtis), Jessica Johnson (Matt) and Joshua Platte (Jenna). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
