With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Monica Edgar of Waterloo, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Monica left this world on July 26, 2025 at the age of 85, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward M. Donahue and Violet Sawvell Donahue; her husband James G. Edgar; her son John "Jack" Edgar; her sons-in-law, Ron Rigdon and John Peters; and her siblings, Edward, Joseph, John Donahue, Marcella Palade, Mary Troendle and Marjorie Trewnick.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Peters of Manson, Malinda Rigdon of Evansdale, Mitze Billings (Ross) of Waterloo, James Edgar, Jr. (Sandy) of Waterloo, Jeff Edgar' (Diane) of Waterloo and Maggie Edgar of Cedar Falls; and her siblings, Margaret Elin (John) of Torrance, CA, Madonna Walsh of Evansdale, Maureen Graeber'Waterloo (Dave), Marilyn Kenney of McHenry, IL, Jim Donahue of Waukegan, IL and Jerry Donahue of South Carolina. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Locke (1519 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50702). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (650 Stephan Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at the Memories Cemetery.
