He is survived by: his father Robert Warren Petersen Sr.; his wife Elizabeth Beecher; his children, Robert Louis Petersen (Kayla) of Waterloo and Katherine Beecher Petersen (Spencer Schuchmann) of Waterloo; his siblings, Dana Petersen McDermott (David) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Eric Petersen (Mary) of Waterloo, Iowa; his aunt Carolyn Reynolds (Jim) of Corning, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, William Beecher (Desa Gese), Thomas Beecher (Monica Robbins) and Donna Beecher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and very special friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup (300 West Ridgeway Ave., Waterloo, IA 50701). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Edward Catholic Church (1423 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701).
Bob earned widespread respect for his leadership and contributions to the lubricants industry.
